FairUpsell Privacy Policy

FairUpsell ("we," "us," "the App") is a Shopify app that shows post-purchase and thank-you-page upsell offers. This policy explains what data we collect and why, in plain language.

What we collect

• From merchants: your shop domain, the funnels and offers you configure, your billing/subscription status, and — only if you choose to provide one — an alert email address for breakage notifications.
• From orders: only the Shopify order ID, the product/variant IDs involved, and whether an offer was shown, accepted, or declined. We do not collect customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or shipping/billing addresses. Our order tracking references order IDs only.
• Technical data: OAuth access tokens required to call the Shopify Admin API on your store's behalf, issued and managed by Shopify.

What we don't do

• We never show third-party ads on your checkout or thank-you page.
• We never sell, rent, or share data with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We never use personal data for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

Why we process this data

Order IDs and product data let us determine which upsell offer to show and calculate the revenue attributed to accepted offers on your dashboard. Your shop domain and access token are required by Shopify's platform for the app to function. An alert email, if provided, is used only to send you breakage-monitoring notifications.

Data retention

We retain funnel, offer, and order-tracking data for as long as your store has the app installed. When Shopify sends us a customers/redact webhook for a specific order, we delete our record of that order. When you uninstall the app, or Shopify sends a shop/redact webhook, we delete your shop's data entirely — including all funnels, offers, and order-tracking records.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We authenticate every request using Shopify's session-token system and never handle or store your store's payment card information.

Your rights

We support Shopify's mandatory data protection webhooks automatically: customer data-access requests (customers/data_request) and deletion requests (customers/redact, shop/redact).
